We all know that you never think about the Fire Department until you need them.  But there are some people who go out of their way to make sure you never have to think about it, and they volunteer their time to help keep us all safe.  The Johnson County Fire Auxiliary Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction serves as a thank you to a lot of these brave souls. This is the tenth year of this event, and it helps to raise money for all the great work they do.  The Johnson County Volunteer Fire department serves a lot of areas 24 hours a day, seven days a week: Centerview, Chilhowee, Columbus, Cornelia, Fayetteville, Knob Noster, Leeton, Valley City and Warrensburg.  You can imagine that that takes a lot of people and a lot of work.

I got to talk to Sheila Fitterling with the Auxiliary about the dinner, the auction and about all the good this group has been doing for so many years.

INTERVIEW HERE

Make sure you attend the event on March 8 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the Johnson County Fairgrounds.  I'll be out there doing the Emcee honors! Dinner tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for kids 4-12, and kids 3 and under eat for free.  They'll be doing giveaways for a Weatherby Magnum Rifle with brand new wooden stocks donated by Macon Gunstocks, and a custom handmade leather case.  Enjoy some amazing spaghetti dinner prepared by the Auxiliary's finest.  If you need more information, call 909-3462.

Voluntarily yours,
