Three people were injured Saturday afternoon in Benton County after two vehicles collided.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the wreck at approximately 12:30, on MO-7 just east of Route KK.

According to the online crash report, a 2004 GMC crossed the center line and struck a 2018 Chevrolet.

The driver of the Chevy, 40-year old Heather M. Weidenhammer, of Kansas City, suffered moderate injuries, while a passenger, 27-year old Sarah M. Everhart, of Kearney, suffered serious injuries. Weidenhammer was taken to Golden Valley Hospital for treatment. Everhart was flown by LifeFlight to Research Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the GMC, 16-year old Kyleigh B. Hines, of Warsaw, suffered moderate injures and was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.

The report indicates that all three were wearing safety devices. Both vehicles were totaled and towed.
