3 S-C FCCLA Students Advance to State Competition
Three Smith-Cotton FCCLA students qualified for the state competition in March with their performances at the STAR Event Region 12 competition Jan. 18 at La Monte High School.
Madi Dick earned a gold award in Fashion Design and Katelin Frame and Jasmine Hernandez won gold in the Chapter Service Project competition. They next will compete at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference March 19-21 at Osage Beach.
Also at the Region 12 event, S-C’s Blanca Melgar and Emily Driskell earned silver designation in the Focus on Children category; Sarai Cervantes and Kassidy Abney assisted at the event as a student judge and room monitor.
