A 44-year-old man has been charged in a deadly shooting in Missouri.

Jeffrey Dean Watring was arraigned Thursday on charges of second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 45-year-old Terry Lynn Maples. The Sedalia Democrat reports that the shooting happened Tuesday afternoon in the small town of Windsor, where both men lived.

The Henry County Sheriff's Department said in a news release that when authorities arrived, Maples was lying on the front porch of a home and suffering from an apparent chest wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bond is set at $100,000. No attorney is listed for Watring in online court records.
