A Marshall Man Died in a One-Vehicle Accident Tuesday Afternoon

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a fatality accident in Saline County Tuesday afternoon around 1:00 (Nov 1).

The driver of a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 suffered from a medical condition, as the vehicle was heading westbound on MO Highway 240. The truck traveled off the right side of the road, then returned back to the roadway, when it crossed the center, then traveled off the left side, and struck a ditch. The Dodge then rolled and came to rest on its wheels.

The driver was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital by Saline County EMS and was later Lifeflighted to the University of Columbia Medical Center. 60-year old Edward G. McDaniel, of Marshall, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
