The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle accident in Johnson County that injured a Sedalia woman, Sunday morning.

The accident occurred around 9:20 on Highway 50, just east of Northwest 821 Road.

A 2003 Ford Taurus was traveling eastbound on Highway 50, when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. The driver then over-corrected, which caused the Taurus to slide. The car then slid across Highway 50 and traveled off the left side of the road, before striking the ground, and then overturned. The car came to rest on its roof.

The driver, 24-year old Andrea M. Young, of Sedalia, suffered moderate injuries in the accident. She was taken Lee’s Summit Medical Center, by the Johnson County Ambulance District, for treatment.

According to the report, the Taurus was totaled in the accident.
