Here’s your afternoon crime report from the Sedalia Police Department for May 7, 2012.

Investigation on Saturday Afternoon Results in Arrest of 39-year-old Sedalia Man

Just before 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Sedalia police responded to the 1700 block of East 16th to assist the Children’s Division with an investigation. During the investigation officers reportedly relayed the suspect's name to dispatch. According to dispatch the suspect, 39-year-old Kenneth Lacey of the residence had an active Benton County Warrant for failure to appear. Lacey was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $12,000 bond on the warrant.

 

33-year-old Sedalia Man Arrested on Possession Charges

Just after mid-night this Monday morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of South Ingram for having license plates that did not check out for that vehicle. Upon contact with the driver, 33-year-old Todd Harvey, he was found to be revoked. A subsequent search of a passenger, 38-year-old Brian Barr of Sedalia, and the vehicle, uncovered pills, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. At the time of the police report, Harvey and Barr were both on 24-hour hold in the Pettis County jail pending formal charges.

 

Subject under the influence damaged property in the 1400 block of South Ohio

Around 7:50 Saturday night Sedalia police were dispatched to the 1400 block of South Ohio in reference to a subject running around dressed in only their underwear. The subject was yelling and hitting road signs, and damaging property on nearby homes. The police report states the subject appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance, and was taken to Bothwell Hospital for treatment.

 

Vehicle stop Sunday morning lands Sedalia man in jail on drug charges

At 3:13 Sunday morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 3rd and Engineer with no registration. A search of the driver, 30-year-old Jeffrey Stoney of Sedalia, revealed he was in possession of Methamphetamine, and Drug Paraphernalia. Stoney was arrested and taken to the Pettis county jail, where he was placed on 24-hour hold pending State Charges.

 

Sedalia Man in Jail on a Failure to Appear Warrant

At 7:42 Saturday night Sedalia police arrested 21-year-old Jeremy Rayburn of Sedalia on a Pettis County failure to appear warrant. Rayburn was transported to the Pettis county jail pending $2500 bond.

 

Thief Targets a Vehicle at a Service Station

At 4:16 Sunday morning, a male victim reported his vehicle was entered while he was inside a Westside convenience store, and weapon and cash were stolen. There was no information on a possible suspect in the police report.

 

25-year-old Marshall Woman arrested for DWS

At 6 o’clock Sunday evening 25-year-old  Elisha Harris of Marshall was arrested at 3rd and Limit for driving while suspended. Harris was booked and released pending a court date.

 

Sedalia Man Booked and Released on a DWS charge

On Friday night, 28-year-old Demetrius Chambers of Sedalia was arrested for operating a vehicle without an operator’s license. He was booked and released pending a court date.

 

East side Woman Reports her Vehicle was Vandalized

On Sunday morning, a woman in the 1700 block of East 6th reported her vehicle was vandalized sometime overnight. According to the victim, someone raised the hood on her vehicle and cut the radiator hose. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.
