Sedalia man arrested Wednesday afternoon on a Pettis County Warrant

Around 2:20 Wednesday afternoon Sedalia Police observed a male subject walking in the roadway, at East Howard and Engineer. A check on the man revealed he had an active warrant out of Pettis County for a probation violation. The suspect identified as 51-year-old Daniel Raymond Strunk of Sedalia was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $3500 cash or security bond on the warrant.

42-year-old Sedalia man arrested Wednesday afternoon on drug related charges

Just after 4pm Wednesday afternoon Sedalia Police officers observed a vehicle make several traffic violations in the area of 16th and Summit. Following a traffic stop the driver identified as 42-year-old Bryon Lee Rhoades of Sedalia gave the officers permission to conduct a search. The police report states the driver was found to be in possession of controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia. At the time of the police report he was on 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges of possession of opium, cocaine, and their derivatives, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sedalia woman arrested on a warrant out of Marshall

According to a Sedalia Police report, 44-year-old Lynn Kristine Nielson of Sedalia was arrested in the 1200 block of South Limit on an active failure to appear warrant out of Marshall. The police report states after arresting Nielson she was transported to the county line, and turned over to the Marshall Police for further investigation.

Hit and run suspect located and faces felony charges

Sedalia Police responded to the Walmart Store on a hit and run accident. The victim told the officers the suspect drove around them after the incident, then drove away at high speed. The vehicle was reportedly located along with the suspect driver, who faces felony leaving the scene of an accident charges. The suspect was not named in the police report.

Victim on West 3rd reports thieves took his medication

At 8:41 Wednesday afternoon a victim in the 1100 block of West 3rd reported medication was stolen from his apartment. According to the victim thieves made off with 30 Flexeril, and 20 Alprazolam pills. There was no suspect information in the police report.

Smith Cotton High School student reports a $150 Cell Phone is stolen during school hours

On Wednesday a student at Smith Cotton High School reported the theft of a cell phone to the School’s Resource Officer. According to the victim the phone had a value of $150. An investigation is underway in the theft.
