Sedalia Police investigate a call on small children playing outside unsupervised

At 9:30 Friday morning Sedalia Police received a call about two small children playing outside unattended in the 400 block of West 7th. Upon arrival officers were able to locate the person responsible for the supervision of the children. The police report states following an investigation a child abuse hotline call was made, and also the Pettis County Children’s Division was contacted. There was no other information at news time.

Suspicious activity investigated at an apartment in the 200 block of South Prospect

According to a Sedalia Police report officers investigated suspicious activity at an apartment in the 200 block of South Prospect at 10:51 this (Monday) morning. The police report states a suspect called the Air-Force Recruiter and made comments about a threat to National Security. Following an investigation the officers determined there was no threat in that incident.

Intoxicated man faces charges of property damage after a Saturday morning incident

Around 5:12 Saturday morning Sedalia Police were dispatched to a residence in the 1200 block of West 4th on an intoxicated subject. Prior to the officer’s arrival a caller reported the suspect had kicked their door breaking the glass. Upon arrival the suspect was reportedly passed out due to intoxication. 27-year-old Matias Hernandez of Sedalia was arrested, and transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center where he was admitted for observation. The police report states property damages charges are possible in the case.

26-year-old Sedalia woman issued a summons and court date for stealing at Walmart

At 5pm Friday evening Sedalia Police responded to the Walmart Store at 3201 West Broadway on a theft complaint. Upon arrival 26-year-old Rachel Skutnick of Sedalia was issued a Sedalia Summons, and a court date for reportedly attempting to leave the store with $51 worth of items without paying for them.

Assault reported to the Sedalia Police Sunday morning

Sunday morning Sedalia Police responded to the Bothwell Hospital Emergency Room on a reported assault. Upon arrival the female victim told the officers a subject known to her had pushed her to the ground causing injury. The suspect had not been contacted at the time of the police report.

Dog reported stolen in the 1300 block of East 4th

Around 4:30pm Saturday afternoon a victim in the 1300 block of East 4th  reported his male Alaskan Husky/Shepherd mix dog valued at $200 was stolen from his residence. There were no suspects at news time.

Vandals slash tires on 8-vehicles in the 700 block of West 4th Sunday morning

Sunday morning Sedalia Police took a report of vandalism in the 700 block of West 4th. A Sedalia Police report states 8-vehicle had tires slashed, which resulted in $2520 in damages. There was no information on possible suspects in the case at news time.

Hit and run accident involving a KCP&L pole reported Sunday afternoon

Just before 2pm Sunday afternoon Sedalia police investigated a hit and run accident, that damaged a KCP&L Pole in the area of 23rd and Grand. According to a witness the driver got out of the vehicle after losing control, and striking the pole, threw his drink and pizza on the ground, then got back in the vehicle, and drove away. The witness gave the officers the license number of the vehicle, and a description of the driver, which the report states matches their information. The suspect had not been contacted at the time of the police report.

A 55” television valued at $450 was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of North Quincy just before noon Saturday morning. There were no suspects.

Just after 11am Sunday morning Pettis County Deputies were called to the 1400 block of Elm Hills Blvd for a disturbance, and trespassing in progress. Upon arrival 45-year-old Dale Wade Kabler of Sedalia was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail for entering a residence without permission. He was booked then released
