Homeless Man with warrants arrested in a burglary case Sunday evening

Just after 6pm Sunday evening the Sedalia Police responded to a business in the 500 block of South Ohio on a burglary in progress. Upon arrival a witness told the officers 22-year-old Derrick James Davidson, a homeless person had entered a restricted area of the business and stole $800 in cash, and several credit/debit cards. During an investigation the stolen items were found in Davidson’s possession. The police report states Davidson was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was fingerprinted during which his real identity was revealed, along with two extraditable warrants out of Kansas, and a failure to appear warrant out of Higginsville. At the time of the police report Davidson was in the Pettis County Jail pending bonds totaling $16,500, plus the filing of additional charges.

ATV stolen from a female victim in the 600 block of East 10th

At 3:22 this (Tuesday) morning Sedalia Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of East 10th on a report of a stolen ATV. According to the female victim the theft of the ATV happened sometime after July the 29th of this year. There were no suspects at news time in the theft of the ATV, which had a value of $1000.

Woman reports a cell phone she laid down in a store was stolen

Around 9pm Monday night a female victim reported her cell phone was stolen while she was in the Dollar General in the 600 block of North Ohio. The woman stated she laid the phone down somewhere in the store, and it was stolen. There are no suspects.

A hit and run accident was reported at the Walmart store Monday night. The victim stated he was in the store for an hour, and discovered the damage to his vehicle when he returned to it to leave. There are no suspects.
