20-year-old Sedalia man in jail for assaulting a female family member

At 4:25 Thursday afternoon Sedalia Police were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of East 6th on an assault complaint. Upon arrival the female victim told officers her adult son had bit her on the arm, punched her in the back, then pushed her down the porch steps. Arrested at the scene was 20-year-old William Staten of the residence. He was taken to the Pettis County jail where he was placed on 24-hour-hold pending formal charges.

Suspect arrested on multiple charges Wednesday afternoon on East Broadway

Just after 4pm Wednesday afternoon Sedalia Police located a suspect in the 700 block of East Broadway who was the subject of an investigation, with probable cause for arrest. Officers arrested 33-year-old Bryan Keith Combs a homeless person, and transported him to the Pettis County jail where he was placed on 24-hour hold pending the filing of charges including assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action. A bond of $25,000 cash or surety was set for Combs.

Columbia man arrested this (Friday) morning on a parole violation warrant

Around 3:40 this (Friday) morning Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 700 block of West 6th on a subject check. Upon arrival officers located 23-year-old Tyler Boyce of Columbia. A check through dispatch confirmed that Boyce had an active no-bond parole violation warrant At the time of the police report he was in the Pettis County jail pending further action.

43-year-old Homeless person arrested at Walmart for stealing

At 5:19 Thursday evening Sedalia Police arrested Alice Scott a homeless person for attempting to steal items from the Walmart store. According to the complainant Scott had attempted to steal spark plugs and batteries valued at $54 from the store. Scott was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail, and placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

Man with a failure to appear warrant arrested at the fairgrounds Thursday night

Just before mid-night Thursday night Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Missouri State Fairgrounds on a suspect with a warrant. Kenneth S. Mcgee Jr. was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail on a failure to appear warrant with a cash only bond of $88.50 cash only.

A Warrensburg woman is arrested Wednesday evening for shoplifting at Walmart

Around 5pm Wednesday evening Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Walmart store on a shoplifting suspect. Upon arrival the complainant reported the suspect, 50-year-old Susan Harley of Warrensburg had attempted to steal over $300 worth of merchandise from the store. Harley was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where she was booked and released pending a court date.

Thieves steal a work phone, headphones, sticker badges, cd’s and some change from a vehicle Thursday morning. There are no suspects at news time.
