Traffic stop for expired plates results in arrest for a 21-year-old Sedalia man

Just before 11am Thursday morning the Sedalia police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Main and Missouri with expired registration. A check through dispatch revealed the driver 21-year-old Ryan L. Newland of Sedalia had an active Pettis County Warrant. Newland was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $2500 bond.

Two people arrested on warrants during a disturbance investigation Thursday

According to a Sedalia Police report at 2:25pm Thursday afternoon Sedalia Police responded to the area of 7th and Lafayette on a disturbance. Upon arrival officers made contact with two suspects with active warrants. Arrested at the scene was 33-year-old Thomas Duane Church of Sedalia who reportedly had a Pettis County warrant, and a Versailles Police Department warrant with bonds totaling $1199.50. Also arrested at the scene was 38-year-old Bennie Fisher a homeless man with an active warrant out of Pettis County with a cash only bond of $284. At the time of the police report both men were in the Pettis County Jail pending their bonds.

Female driver arrested for driving while suspended Thursday morning

At 7:44am Thursday morning Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at 17th and Kentucky for expired registration. A subsequent check on the driver, 42-year-old Lisa R. Daniel of Sedalia revealed she was a suspended driver. She was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where she was booked and released with a court date.

Sedalia woman arrested for driving while suspended Thursday afternoon

Just after noon Thursday Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle in the 2800 block of West Broadway for expired registration. A check through dispatch also revealed the driver 55-year-old Kimberli Jayne Burton of Sedalia was a suspended driver. She was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail pending a court date.

Police receive reports of multiple vehicles with broken windows Wednesday

On Wednesday the Sedalia Police Department received reports of vehicles in the 200 block of South Missouri, 100 block of South State Fair Blvd. and the 400 block of West 3rd with windows broken out of their vehicles. There were no suspects at news time.
