Traffic stop results in multiple charges for a 31-year-old Sedalia Man

Around 5:13 Thursday evening Sedalia Police responded to the area of 11th and Limit on an intoxicated driver. Upon arrival the officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at 11th and Stewart Avenue. Upon contact with the driver 31-year-old Nicholas S. Brandes of Sedalia the officer said the strong odor of intoxicants was detected coming from him. Brandes reportedly refused to take a breathalyzer test, so the officer obtained a warrant, and blood was drawn for analysis. The police report states there were also two small children in the vehicle. At the time of the police report Brandes was on 24-hour hold in the Pettis County jail pending formal charges of Driving while intoxicated (Alcohol) prior offender, Driving while suspended and revoked, and Endangering the welfare of a child.

 

49-year-old Sedalia man arrested for assault and drug related charges Thursday

 

Just after 10pm Thursday night Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 400 block of East 6th.   Upon arrival the officers made contact with the female victim, who reportedly had a minor injury to her arm. The police report states the suspect identified as 49-year-old Rodger Leland Sisemore was located in a back room of the home and arrested. Also according to the police report drugs and drug paraphernalia were located in his bedroom. At the time of the police report Sisemore was on 24-hour hold pending charges of assault, and drug related charges.

Excelsior Springs man arrested for peace disturbance and property damage

On Wednesday Sedalia police were dispatched to the 2800 block of South Grand on a disturbance. Upon arrival the victim told the officers several subjects had come to the house to fight with someone in the house. One of the subjects identified as a 25-year-old Excelsior Springs man reportedly threw a brick damaging the front door. The suspect was issued two- Municipal Summons’ for peace disturbance, and property damage, with a court date. 

Local bank reports an ATM struck by a hit and run driver

According to a Sedalia Police Report the manager of Simmons First National Bank located at 818 Thompson Blvd. reported an ATM Machine was hit by a vehicle at the bank. The vehicle then left the scene without giving the bank any information. There were no suspects, and no estimate on the damage to the ATM.

Tires reported slashed on a vehicle on West 9th

At 5:40 pm Thursday evening Sedalia Police took a property damage complaint from a victim in the 1700 block of West 9th. According to the victim sometime overnight someone slashed three tires on his vehicle. There was no information on a suspect at news time.
