Bike Rider arrested for drug related charges after near miss accident with a police car

According to a Sedalia Police report at 10:38 Thursday night a bicycle rider ran in front of a police car at Broadway and Montgomery, causing the officer driving to stop quickly to avoid a collision. The police report states the bicycle also had no lights. Upon contact with the rider, 52-year-old Dennis Lee Dotson of Sedalia he was found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Dotson was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail, where he was placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges for possession of a synthetic narcotic, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Around 7:45 Wednesday night Sedalia Police responded to a residence in the 500 block of East 10th on a report of people doing drugs. Upon arrival officers found two subjects sitting in a vehicle in the back yard of the residence. The police report states when the officer approached the vehicle the odor of marijuana was detected. Following an investigation 18-year-old Austin I Chadwick of Sedalia was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail pending formal charges of possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Woman believes her ex-boyfriend stole her debit card

Just before 5am Thursday morning Sedalia police were dispatched to a residence in the 1600 block of South Sneed on a theft complainat. Upon arrival the female victim told the officers someone took her debit card and has charged $274 on it. The victim believes her ex-boyfriend may be responsible. The police report states the suspect had not been located at the time of the police report.
