Traffic stop Thursday ends with arrest for a Sedalia man

Just after 1am Thursday morning Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 4th and Lamine for improper registration, and failure to come to a complete stop at an intersection. Upon contact with the driver of the vehicle the officer said the odor of intoxicants was detected from inside the vehicle. Following a field sobriety test the driver, 36-year-old Ralph Bellamy Jr. of Sedalia was determined to be intoxicated. Bellamy was arrested and transported to the Pettis jail where he was booked and released with a court date.

Vehicle theft reported to Sedalia Police Friday night

At 9:20 Friday night Sedalia Police too k a vehicle theft complaint from a victim at Kehdes Barbeque located at 1915 South Limit. According to the victim sometime earlier in the night someone stole his 2002 Toyota Sequoia from behind the business. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.

Attempted vehicle theft results in $1200 in damages

Just before noon on Friday Sedalia Police took a damage complaint from a victim in the 900 block of East 3rd. The victim told the officers someone did $1200 damage to his 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe while attempting to steal the vehicle. There was no information on possible suspects in the police report.

Thefts, and Property Damage Reports filed with the Sedalia Police Department

The Dollar General located at 713 East Broadway reported a theft to the Sedalia Police Sunday morning. According to an employee of the business a suspect stole items from the store, and fled on foot when the employees confronted him. The suspect had not been located at news time.

Around 3:30 Friday afternoon a female victim reported someone stole items worth $75 from her unlocked vehicle while it was in the Thompson Hill’s Shopping Center Parking Lot.

A woman in the 2400 block of South Woodlawn Drive reported the theft of items from her residence sometime over the past 10-days. The victim said multiple items were stolen by the thief.

Sunday morning a victim in the 300 block of East 10th reported about $700 in items were stolen from his truck overnight. The victim also told officers approximately $100 damage was done to bhis truck during the break-in.

A victim in the 1800 block of West 4th reported someone done about $100 damage to his yard when they drove through Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

The front license plates were reported stolen off of two vehicle parked in a driveway in the 1900 block of South Ohio Saturday afternoon.

Friday morning a male victim in the 1300 block of South Stewart reported a window of his vehicle was broken out, and 30 cd’s were stolen.
Found Items turned into the Sedalia Police

An abandoned 20” DYNO NXT Bike was turned into the Sedalia Police Department that was left in the area of16th and Part Saturday night. The bike is in the police department bike shed at this time.

At 7:30 this (Monday) morning a man turned a wallet into the police department. The wallet was found in the area of 11th and Ingram.
