20-year-old Sedalia man arrested on a Wisconsin warrant

Just after 7 pm Monday night Sedalia Police responded to the 600 block of East 16th on a warrant check. Upon arrival contact was made with the suspect identified as Anthony Wentz of Sedalia. Following confirmation Wentz was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail on the no-bond parole and probation warrant out of Wisconsin. At the time of the police report Wentz was in the Pettis County Jail on the warrant, pending further action.

Sedalia woman arrested for assault in a biting incident

Around 10:24 Sunday night Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance in the 1800 block of South Carr. Upon arrival the officers saw three people pinning the suspect to the ground. According to the victim’s the suspect had bitten two of them and one would require medical attention. Arrested in the incident was 20-year-old Charlene Teaster of Sedalia. Teaster was transported to the Pettis County jail, and placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges of 2nd degree assault.

4-year-old child reported in the street in the 500 block of West 3rd Monday afternoon

At 1:09 Monday afternoon the Sedalia Police Department received a call on a 4-year-old child in the street in the 500 block of West 3rd.  Prior to arrival the officers were informed this was not the first time for the child. The child was located on an apartment house front porch, and led officers upstairs where the father was sleeping. The mother had gone to the store and reportedly left the child with the sleeping father. The police report states the HOTLINE was called, and the parents were counseled on a 4-year-old child’s need of constant supervision.

Wal-Mart reports a shoplifting suspect is on video

At 7am Monday morning Sedalia Police received a theft complaint from the Wal-Mart Store located at 3201 West Broadway. According to the complainant a subject left the store with $489.52 worth of products. The complainant also told the officers the suspect fraudulently returned $57.19 in items prior to walking out of the store. The complainant provided the officers with suspect information including video. The investigation is ongoing.
