Sedalia Police investigate a domestic disturbance involving a gun

At 2:45 Tuesday afternoon Sedalia Police responded to a residence in the 600 block of East 10th on a domestic disturbance involving a gun. Upon arrival officers spoke to a female victim who told the officers the suspect identified as 21-year-old Andre James Harvey Jr. had assaulted her, and brandished a gun during the incident. The police report states Harvey said there was no gun when asked its location, but the victim showed them where it was. The report also states, that during the search for the gun several items of drug paraphernalia were located. At the time of the police report Harvey was on 24-hour hold pending formal charges of domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Child endangerment case investigated in the 400 block of Buckner Court

Just before 9pm Tuesday night Sedalia Police investigated a report of a child running away from his mother in the 400 block of Buckner Court. Upon arrival officers located the child, but after speaking to the mother officers determined she was not capable of taking care of him. The report states the Hotline was called, and the child was handed over to an adult who was capable of caring for him. There were no arrests in the incident.

Dollar General on South Limit reports the theft of a pool

According to a Sedalia Police report at 2:46 Tuesday afternoon the Dollar General at 2003 South Limit reported the theft of a swimming pool. According to the Sedalia Police report two suspects removed a 60” pool from its package, and ran from the store without paying for the item. There were no suspects at news time.

Jeep knocks down a stop sign in a hit and run accident

Around 1:15 pm this (Wednesday) afternoon Sedalia Police responded to 19th and Ingram on a hit and run accident. Upon arrival officers found a stop sign had been struck, by a vehicle, that did not report the accident. According to witnesses the vehicle that damaged the sign was a Beige Jeep with a black ragtop. There was no other information available at news time.
