Homeless woman arrested for trespassing at Liberty Park early this (Thursday) morning

At 12:23 this (Thursday) morning the Sedalia Police were dispatched to 2nd and Park on a woman who was reportedly screaming. Upon arrival officers located the suspect identified as 47-year-old Shelly Lynn Waid a homeless person. Waid was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail on a charge of trespassing, for being in Liberty Park after the closing hour. Bond was set at $283.

Rental car from a local company found in another state

Around 2:40 Wednesday afternoon Sedalia Police took a complaint from American Auto Rental at 2101 South Limit on a vehicle that had not been returned to them. According to the complainant and victim the Police Chief of Zanesville Ohio called to tell them the vehicle was found in a parking lot there. The vehicle had been scheduled for return on the 7th of July 2014. The company wishes to press charges according to the police report.

Theft from a motor vehicle reported early this (Thursday) morning

Just after 1:30 this (Thursday) morning Sedalia Police responded to the 3100 block of South Limit on a theft complaint. Upon arrival the female victim told officers sometime after mid-night this (Thursday) morning someone took a red overnight bag from her vehicle, that was parked in the motel parking lot. The bag contained clothing, two bottles of insulin with syringes, and various jewelry. The victim placed a value of $219 on the items. There were no suspects at news time.

Stolen cell phone reported on McAnally Court

On Wednesday a victim in the 300 block of McAnnally Court reported her cell phone valued at $450 had been stolen from her residence. There were no suspects.
