Child abuse case being investigated on Sedalia’s Southside

At 10:44 Friday night Sedalia Police were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of South Grand on a possible child abuse. Upon arrival officers made contact with a 3-year-old male child with bruising on his face. The child was taken into custody, and released to the Children’s Division for further action.

Sedalia man arrested for domestic assault Saturday morning

Around 2:10 Saturday morning Sedalia Police responded to a residence in the 200 block of Scott Joplin Court on a domestic disturbance.  Upon arrival the suspect 27-year-old Miguel Alejo-Rubio of the residence admitted he had hit his girlfriend. Rubio was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on 24-hour hold pending charges of domestic assault 3dr degree.

20-year-old Sedalia man arrested on an active warrant Saturday morning

Just after 4am Saturday morning Sedalia Police observed 20-year-old Samuel Perez Jr.  walking in the roadway at 17th and Missouri. A subsequent check on Perez revealed he had an active warrant out of Sedalia for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. At the time of the police report Perez was in the Pettis County jail pending a $200 bond.

Theft complaints under investigation by the Sedalia Police Department

Just before 11:30 Saturday morning a victim in the 1200 block of South Carr reported a large standing tool box, and tools were stolen from his garage. The victim gave officers information on possible suspects to investigate.

Around noon Sunday morning A victim in the 200 block of East 24th filed a theft complaint with the Sedalia Police Department. According to the victim sometime after 2pm Friday afternoon someone stole a metal gas tank, and a plastic gas tank for his boat. There were no suspects at news time.

At 8:12 Saturday morning Sedalia police investigated an attempted break in of a vehicle in the 900 block of South Carr. According to the victim the thieves had attempted to pry open the driver’s side door, and the window.

Around 6:30 Sunday morning a victim in the 1400 block of East Broadway reported unspecified items, and money from her vehicle sometime overnight.
