Sedalia man dies of self-inflicted gunshot wound Saturday night

Just before 10pm Saturday night Sedalia Police responded to the 2700 block of Brandon Avenue on gun shots. Upon arrival officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. Following life saving measures the victim a 41-year-old male was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by ambulance, where he later died from what was determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head. No other information was contained in the police report.

Warrant check Friday morning results in arrest for a 28-year-old Sedalia man

At 11:49 Friday morning Sedalia Police responded to a residence in the 300 block of Buckner Court on a warrant check. Upon arrival officers made contact with the suspect 28-year-old Jacob Hull of the Residence. A check through dispatch confirmed Hull had an active Pettis County warrant. At the time of the police report Hull was in the Pettis County Jail pending a $15,000 bond on that warrant.

Sedalia woman reports a rape that took place a few days ago

Around 1:45 Friday afternoon a woman in the 300 block of East 4th filed a rape complaint with Sedalia Police. According to the victim the rape occurred a few days earlier. An investigation is in progress at this time.

Landlord files property damage complaints against her renter

Sedalia Police received a report of a man in a yard throwing and breaking things with a sledge hammer in the 1600 Block of East 4th. Sedalia Police arrested Shannon Wheatley and was charged with making a public peace disturbance, bond set at $283. In a later report the victim, who was the suspect’s landlord went into her garage and found, that Wheatley had also damaged a vehicle.

Thieves steal a man’s riding lawnmower at the Walmart Store

At 7:12 Friday morning a victim at the Walmart Store reported the theft of his riding lawnmower. According to the victim the thieves stole the mower from the back of his trailer, that was parked in front of the store. There was no information on possible suspects at newstime.
