Department of Family Services investigates an Abuse case at Scott Joplin Court

According to a Sedalia Police Report just before 11 Saturday night (May 10), two subjects came to the police station to report a case of abuse that reportedly took place in the 200 block of Scott Joplin Court. The police report states the Department of Family Services was called in to assist in the investigation. There was no other information in the police report.

22-year-old Sedalia man arrested for playing chicken in traffic early this Monday morning

Just after mid-night this (Monday) morning, Sedalia Police were dispatched to Broadway and Engineer on a report of three men playing chicken with oncoming traffic. Upon arrival, officers found one man identified as 22-year-old Samuel Ryan Watson of Sedalia still in the roadway. Watson was issued a summons, and given a court date.

Man walking in an alley this (Monday) morning arrested on an active warrant

Around 3 this morning (May 12), Sedalia Police observed a man walking in the alley near 4th and Summit. Upon contact with the subject, 25-year-old Timothy Lamaire of Sedalia was found to have a Sedalia Municipal Warrant. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail, pending a $200 cash only bond.

Traffic stop Saturday evening nets suspended driver

At 4:49 Saturday evening (May 10), Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle for speeding at West Main and Winchester Drive. Upon contact with the driver, 39-year-old Thomas White of Sedalia  was found to be suspended. At the time of the police report, White was in the Pettis County Jail pending a bond of $531.50 for driving while suspended.

18-year-old Sedalia man arrested on a warrant following a traffic stop Saturday

Just before 7:25 Saturday night (May 10), Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at 2nd and Stewart with a passenger known to have a warrant. Upon confirmation of the Sedalia Municipal Warrant, the suspect 18-year-old Dustin Sattler of Sedalia was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail pending an $88.50 cash only bond.

Traffic stop Sunday evening results in arrest for a 39-year-old man

During a traffic stop in the 700 block of east Broadway Sunday evening (May 11), Sedalia Police found the driver, 39-year-old Barry Keele of Sedalia was a suspended driver. Keele was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail where he was booked and released pending a court date.

Theft Complaints filed in Sedalia

Sunday morning (May 11), a victim in the 1300 block of South Marshall Avenue reported a metallic sign was stolen from his vehicle. The sign valued at $20 reads “Natural Touch With Reflexology at 121 East Broadway Sedalia Mo.” There were no suspects at news time.

At 6:38 this morning (May 12), a victim reported to Sedalia Police, the theft of a 1989 GMC Sierra from a parking lot in the 3200 block of East Broadway. There was no information on a suspect contained in the police report.

Dog bites reported in Sedalia on Sunday

Sedalia Police took a report of a dog attacking a man in the 1100 block of South Kentucky around 8 Sunday morning. The victim told officers he had to fend the dog off with an orange highway cone. The police report states the owner of the dog was issued a citation for an animal running at large.

Just after 3 Sunday afternoon Sedalia Police responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center on a dog bite. Upon arrival officers found a victim with a bite to the arm. The police report states the dog and its owner were not located.
