Sedalia Police Close UpChild abuse case under investigation in Sedalia

At 1:27 Thursday afternoon Sedalia Police were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of South Engineer on a reported child abuse, that took place in the 1600 block of East Broadway. Upon arrival a complainant told the officers the suspect, 26-year-old Shawn A. Parker of Sedalia had thrown the victim across the room, and slammed their head against a file cabinet several times causing visible bruises to the victim’s face. At the time of the police report Parker was in the Pettis County jail on 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

Traffic stop Monday morning results in arrest for a Sedalia man on drug related charges

Around 1:45 this (Monday) morning the Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at 24th and Marvin for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the occupant of the vehicle the officer detected the odor of marijuana. 48-year-old Michael Reese Jones of Sedalia was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on 24- hour hold pending drug related charges.

Female suspect arrested for striking another female in the face

At 2:11am this (Monday) morning Sedalia Police responded to a physical disturbance in the 500 block of North Osage. Upon arrival officers made contact with the female victim, who reported a female suspect identified as 36-year-old Misti Dawn Covington of Sedalia had struck her in the face, then left. The victim had a bloody nose, but refused medical attention. Covington was located and arrested. She was transported to the Pettis County jail pending a $533.50 bond on an assault charge.

Sedalia man arrested for peace disturbance early Monday morning

Just before 2:30am this (Monday) morning according to a Sedalia police report; officers were dispatched to the Bothwell Regional Health Center Emergency Room on a reported disturbance. Upon arrival hospital staff told the officers a suspect identified as 31-year-old Shannon Dale Davis of Sedalia was being loud and uncooperative. The police report states the officers made contact with Davis, and he was being loud and cursing. He was asked to leave, which he reportedly did, but was yelling and cursing as he went outside. The police report states as Davis walked towards Broadway he became louder. Davis was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail pending a $283.50 bond on a charge of public peace disturbance.

Local business reports items stolen from a vehicle at their business Sunday night

Just after 9pm Sunday night a complainant at WK Collision Center located at 211 Thompson Road reported items stolen from a vehicle. According to the complainant someone broke a passenger side window to gain access to a vehicle, and stole a car stereo, anda radio subwoofer. Value of the stolen items was set at $250. There was no information on possible suspects in the case.

Sunday two victims in the 400 block of East 5th reported their debit cards had been fraudulently used at local businesses. There were no suspects at news time.
