Sedalia Police investigate a child abuse case Sunday morning

Just before 2am Sunday morning, Sedalia Police responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center on a possible child abuse case. Upon arrival, the caller reported a juvenile’s father had slapped him across the face. The incident is currently under investigation by the Sedalia Police Department.

24-year-old Sedalia man arrested for failure to appear

At 3:12 Sunday afternoon, 24-year-old Christopher Ray Bennett of Sedalia turned himself in at the Sedalia Police Station for a City of Sedalia failure to appear warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending an $88.50 bond.

Sedalia man arrested for theft at the Walmart Store Sunday night

Around 7:25pm Sunday night Sedalia Police issued a summons and court date to 24-year-old Eric W. Brown of Sedalia for stealing a $12 belt from the Walmart Store.

Female suspect sought in a theft from a local business

At 5:18pm Sunday evening Sedalia Police were dispatched to Rue-21 located at 3107 West Broadway on a theft complaint. Upon arrival, the complainant told the officers  a female suspect stole three items from an outside rack during their sidewalk sale on Saturday. The items were valued collectively at $132.99. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.

Hit and run suspect knocks down a traffic and pedestrian sign at Broadway and Kentucky

According to a Sedalia Police report an officer discovered a signal light and pedestrian signal had been knocked down at Broadway and Kentucky Sunday morning. The police report states the hit and run vehicle left the area, and had not been located at news time.
