Sedalia man arrested on drug related charges following a traffic stop

At 26-minutes after midnight this (Monday) morning Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at 10th and Ingram for equipment violations, and expired license plates. Upon contact with the driver the officer received permission to search the person and the vehicle. The police report states K9 Unit Charlie was called in to do a sniff search, and alerted on the vehicle. Officers located methamphetamine, pills, marijuana, packaging material, and digital scales. The driver 30-year-old Demi William Albert Maupins of Sedalia was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail and placed on 24-hour hold pending Drug related charges including possession of drugs, paraphernalia, and distribution and delivery of synthetic narcotics.

18-year-old Sedalia man arrested for possession of marijuana Sunday night

Around 10:20 Sunday night Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at West Pettis and Park Avenue for not dimming the lights. Upon contact with the occupants of the vehicle the officer smelled the odor of marijuana. 18-year-old Caleb M. Hurley of Sedalia was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail pending a $533.50 bond on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Female driver arrested for driving while suspended Sunday night

At 7:37 Sunday night Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of South Limit for straddling the dividing line between lanes. A check on the driver 44-year-old Victoria Belen Strohm of Sedalia revealed she was a suspended driver. She was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail where she was booked and released with a court date.

Hair Salon Manager files a complaint with Sedalia Police of inappropriate touching by a client

According to a Sedalia Police report Just before 6pm Saturday evening a female victim reported a case of inappropriate touching by a client. According to the victim she was cutting a man’s hair at the Salon she manages when he touched her. After she warned him not to do that he touched her again, and laughed about it with his adult son. The police report has been filed in the case, and a follow up is expected by the victim.

Hit and Run accident reported on east 5th Street Sunday afternoon

Around 5:16pm Saturday evening a victim in the 3400 b lock of west Broadway reported a hit and run accident. The police report states there is a witness, but the suspect had not been located at the time of the police report.

Complaint filed for a damaged windshield Sunday

Just before 2pm Sunday afternoon a victim in the 500 block of east 5th filed a damage complaint with the Sedalia Police. According to the victim sometime overnight someone damaged his pickup windshield.
There were no suspects at news time.

Theft complaints filed over the weekend

Sunday afternoon a victim in the 2600 block of West 32nd reported 2-bottles of prescription medication, 2- clutch purses, and two round watches that were a necklace were stolen. There are no suspects at news time.

A bicycle valued at $120 was reportedly stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of east 12th Sunday night.

The Break Time at 808 east Broadway reported a man stole a can of Sardines Saturday night.
