34-year-old Sedalia man arrested on a warrant after a traffic stop

Just after 11pm Saturday night Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at Broadway and Vermont for expired registration. A check on the driver, 34-year-old Timothy Jerome Govero of Sedalia revealed he had a failure to appear warrant out of St. Francois County for stealing rented property. At the time of the police report Govero was in the Pettis County Jail pending a $30,000 bond on the warrant.

48-year-old man arrested on South Harding for assaulting a woman

Around mid-night Sunday morning Sedalia Police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of South Harding  on a domestic disturbance. Upon contact with the victim she told the officers 48-year-old Maurice Jerome Byrd Jr. had assaulted her with his hands. The police report states the victim had injuries to her neck, legs, and arms, but refused treatment. Byrd was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges.

Woman is assaulted by a male suspect in a vehicle Saturday night

At 11:35 Saturday night Sedalia Police investigated an assault that reportedly took place in a vehicle at 10th and Thompson Blvd. Upon contact with the female victim she told them 30-year-old Orland Eugene Briscoe of Sedalia had struck her in the face. At the time of the police report Briscoe was in the Pettis County Jail pending 3rd degree domestic assault charges.

Walmart reports two thefts over the weekend both suspects are arrested

At 8:08 Saturday night the Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Walmart Store on a theft complaint. Upon arrival the complainant told the officers 24-year-old Avery N. Williamson of Sedalia was observed concealing$25 worth of merchandise, and attempt to leave the store without paying for the items.  Williamson was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending a $533.50 bond.

17-year-old Warsaw suspect arrested for stealing from Walmart and a warrant

Just before 5pm Sunday afternoon the Sedalia Police arrested 17-year-old Kylie M. Elam of Warsaw for stealing from the Walmart Store. Elam was also found to have a warrant out of Benton County for failure to appear on a traffic related charge. Elam was booked and released on the stealing charge with a court date, but was held pending a $400 cash only bond on the failure to appear warrant.
