Vehicle Check Friday morning ends with the arrest of a 52-year-old Sedalia man

Around 11am Friday morning Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at 12th and Lamine. A check on the occupants revealed that 52-year-old Dennis Lee Dotson of Sedalia had a probation and parole violation warrant. Dotson was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail where he was held on the no-bond warrant.

Domestic assault lands a 26-year-old Sedalia man in jail Sunday afternoon

At 1:19 Sunday afternoon Sedalia police were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of South Kentucky on a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival the victim told the officers that 26-year-old Jonathon D. Robinson of Sedalia had grabbed them during an argument and threw them to the ground. At the time of the police report Robinson was on 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail pending charges of 3rd degree domestic assault.

Sedalia man arrested on active warrants Friday

Just after 4pm Friday afternoon Sedalia Police arrested 50-year-olds Bret A. Turns of Sedalia on active warrants. The police report states one of the warrants was out of the City of Sedalia, and the other was out of Benton County. Turns was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail pending bonds totaling $450.

Revoked driver arrested during a traffic stop

Around 12:15 Friday afternoon Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle for a vehicle check. Upon contact with the driver of the vehicle 50-year-old Bret A. Turns of Sedalia was a revoked driver. Turns was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending a $533.50 bond for driving while revoked.

Sedalia man arrested for shoplifting/stealing from Walmart Friday afternoon

At 3:42 Friday afternoon Sedalia police were dispatched to the Walmart Store on a report of stealing/shoplifting. Upon arrival store personnel told them 27-year-old David Breckenridge Doyle of Sedalia had removed items from packages in the store, and placed them in his pocket. Doyle then reportedly lefty the store without paying for the items. He was booked and released at the Pettis County jail with a court date.

Assault reported East of Sedalia

According to a female victim someone struck her in the nose in the parking lot of the Cork and Bottle, at 3806 East Broadway. The suspect has not been identified.

Forger sought after attempting to remove money from a woman’s account

On Thursday a victim reportedly went to the police station to report an attempted theft from their bank account. According to the victim someone attempted to write a $230 check on her account, but when they tried to cash a $300 check bank staff thought there was a problem. The police report states there is information on the suspect, and also bank video is available. The incident is under investigation.

Thefts reported over the weekend

A bottle of alcohol was reportedly stolen from Wood’s Supermarket Saturday night. According to store personnel a male suspect left the store without paying for a bottle of alcohol worth $17.99.  No arrests have been made in the theft at news time.

Saturday night a victim reported his credit card had been used to purchase $61.49 worth of food at the Pizza Hut without his permission. The suspect has not been found at news time.

Found property turned in to the Sedalia Police Department Sunday afternoon. According to the Sedalia Police Department a wallet was found on Winchester Road near the Walmart Store. The wallet contained an ID card, a cred/debit card and some change. The wallet was placed in the property room at the police station.
