32-year old suspect arrested while police are investigating a 911 hang-up

At 12:34 Saturday morning Sedalia Police responded to Fairview Nursing Home at 1714 West 16th on a 911 hang-up call.  Upon arrival officers reportedly made contact with a suspect6 identified as 32-year-old Shannon Spruell of Sedalia. A check through dispatch confirmed an active warrant. Spruell was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending an $88.50 bond.

Thefts from motor vehicles investigated by Sedalia Police

Around 8:50 Sunday morning a victim in the 900 block of South New York reported $1405 worth of items were stolen from his unsecured vehicle sometime overnight. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.

Just before 7pm Sunday evening a male victim reported his prescription medication was stolen from his vehicle, while it was parked at Clover Dell Park in the 4000 block of West 32nd Street. The theft took place on Thursday the 25th of September according to the victim.

Female victim reports thieves take $800 from her purse in the workplace

Sedalia Police took a theft complaint from a female victim Friday. According to the victim someone stole $800 from her purse while she was at work at The Kid’s Connection located at 509 South State Fair Blvd. The victim said the theft took place between the hours of 12:15 and 5:50pm that same day.

Theft from a storage unit reported Friday evening

At 6:43 Friday evening a male victim reported some unspecified items were stolen from his storage unit located  in the 3505 Greenridge Road. There were no suspects at news time.

Property damage complaints filed with the Sedalia Police Sunday afternoon

Around 12:20 Sunday afternoon victims in the 500 block of Dal-Whi-Mo Court reported a window was broken out of their vehicle. The window was estimated to cost $80 to replace.

Just after 2:30 Sunday afternoon Sedalia Police responded to a property damage complaint in the 3100 block of Brianna Drive. Upon arrival the caller told officers his gun went off as he cleaned it, damaging the apartment’s stove and outer wall. There was no estimate on the damage.

Bikes found on West 4th Saturday afternoon

At 12:57 Saturday afternoon a caller in the 700 block of West 4th reported there were two bicycles left in his yard. According to the police report one of the bikes was spray painted purple, and the brand was not known. The second bike was a lime and black Huffy 20” bike. The police took them to the bike shed.
