Shoplifter arrested at Walmart Saturday afternoon

At 4:13 last Saturday afternoon Sedalia Police were dispatched to Walmart at 3201 West Broadway on a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival Loss Prevention Personnel told the officers the suspect, 38-year-old Maria S. Reyes of Marshall had switched tags on merchandise in the store. Following an investigation Reyes was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail pending a charge of stealing.

Thefts and Property Damage complaints filed with Sedalia Police

Around 10:20am Wednesday morning Sedalia Police took a theft complaint from a victim at the Main Street Self-Storage. According to the complainant 4-storage units had been broken into, a Fifth Wheel Trailer was damaged, and business property was also damaged. An estimate of $1050 was placed on the damages, and $515 worth of items was reportedly stolen.

The Salvation Army at 1200 East Broadway reported a 20-CD player valued at $100 was stolen from the chapel in July.

A bike that was reported stolen on Wednesday in the 800 block of East 6th, was recovered, but had parts missing and the seat was damaged. Damage was estimated at $90.

License plates were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1700 block of West Broadway Wednesday morning.
