Hit and run accident results in arrest on other charges for a Cole Camp man

Just after 7pm Monday night Sedalia Police investigated a hit and run accident in the Wood’s Supermarket Parking Lot. The victim was able to give a description of the vehicle and a license number of the suspect vehicle. The police report states the vehicle was located, and a check on the driver 57-year-old Randall Nelson Tracy of Cole Camp was found to have a failure to appear warrant with a bond of $150,000. The police report also states a charge of identification theft is pending on the suspect. At the time of the police report Tracy was on 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail.

Suspect found hiding in the insulation of an attic during a warrant check

Around 4am this (Tuesday) morning Sedalia police conducted a warrant check on a suspect at a residence in the 1600 block of South Osage. Upon arrival the owner gave officers his consent to search, and the suspect identified as 23-year-old Brett D. Marler-Norton a homeless person was found attempting to hide himself in the insulation of the attic. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail where he was placed on 24-hour hold pending a $4088 bond on the failure to appear warrant, and a charge of resisting arrest.

Baggie of Methamphetamine found at a local business

At 8:41 Monday morning the Sedalia Police were dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway on a found item. Upon arrival the complainant gave the officers a baggie of methamphetamine that a co-worker had reportedly found. The baggie of methamphetamine was taken into police custody and placed into evidence.

Burglary reported on East 5th Monday

On Monday a victim in the 500 block of East 5th reported a guitar amplifier and a power drill were stolen from a business he owns. There was no value placed on the stolen items, and no suspects were mentioned in the police report.

The Casey’s store at 716 West 16th reported a male suspect put a package of Beef Jerky in his jacket pocket and left the store without paying. There was no information on the suspect at news time.
