Afternoon: Sedalia Police Crime Reports For Wednesday July 22, 2015
Local Car Dealer reports thefts from a shed on its property
At 9:42am Tuesday morning Sedalia Police took a theft complaint from a complainant with the Car-Mart located at 3303 South Limit. According to the complainant someone broke into a detailing shed and stole various items with a total value of $1840. The report states the suspect’s vehicle is believed to be a Grey Chevy El-Camino with a raised middle of the hood. The suspect has not been located at news time.
Carroll County Sheriff’s Department reports cases of forgery in Sedalia
Just after noon on Tuesday the Sedalia Police department received a call from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department on forgery cases here in Sedalia. According to the calling deputy checks stolen in their area were forged and passed at the local Walmart and Papa John’s Stores. The deputy said they had one-suspect in custody, and several other suspects in the case. The deputy also stated the suspects have forged checks in other jurisdictions.
Dollar General on North Ohio reports thefts from the store Tuesday afternoon
Around 12:30 Tuesday afternoon a complainant at the Dollar General at 619 North Ohio filed a theft complaint with the Sedalia Police Department. The complainant told police officers two-black men came into the store, and picked up two six-packs of alcohol then ran from the store without paying for them. According to store personnel the crime was captured on security video.
Man reports the tires on his vehicle were flattened and his rear window broken out
Just after 1pm Tuesday afternoon Sedalia Police responded to a residence in the 200 block of North Washington on a vandalism complaint. Upon arrival a victim reported someone had flattened the tires and broke the rear window of his vehicle, that was parked in his back yard. The victim said the vandals punctured the sidewalls of the tires, and used a large rock to break the window.
More thefts reported to the Sedalia Police Department Monday and Tuesday
A woman in the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive reported an I-Pod stolen.
A victim in the 500 block of East 12th reported 3-bicycles were stolen from his front yard.
A woman in the 2400 block of Killion Drive reported a cement bird bath and several other yard ornaments were stolen from her yard.
The Cork and Bottle at 3806 East Broadway reported a gas drive off of $56.45 Monday afternoon.
