Alpha Lou Burks Baessler, 75, of Sedalia passed away Saturday September 5, 2015 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, MO.  She was born on March 9, 1940 in Saline City, MO the daughter of Albert Ray Wilson and Lula I. Davis, who preceded her in death.

On June 22, 1956 Alpha was united in marriage to Bobby Burks, who preceded her in death on June 29, 1994.  On March 30, 1997 she was united in marriage to Ted Baessler, who survives of the home.

Alpha Lou worked several years for Jerry Reid at American Family Insurance. She was a member of the La Monte United Methodist Church where she was active in Sisters in Christ, served on the Finance Committee, and played with the La Monte Bunco group.  She enjoyed volunteering at the Community Cafe with her church group. Alpha loved working in her flowers, sewing, traveling and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Besides her husband Ted, she is survived by a daughter, Robin Blackburn and her husband Michael of La Monte; two granddaughters, Lorin Blackburn of Sedalia and Emily Blackburn of La Monte.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the La Monte United Methodist Church with Pastor Debbie Arvelo officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Reid, Mike Gerloff, Arnold Gerloff, Ralph Gerloff, Kevin Roth, and Steve Jolly.

Honorary bearers will be Freddie Wilson, Jacob Roth, and Frank Nine.
