And I Thought It Was Going to Be Pretty

As I was coming to work today, I drove by an area that was cleaned of all its trees and other things last year.  I hated to see the trees go, but let’s face it, most of them were a little scraggly.

The only good thing the trees really did was cover the old Missouri Pacific Shops buildings that could use some paint and the grounds that could use some landscaping. I figured however whoever took out the trees had a beautification project in mind. We would soon see pretty flowers and bushes, we would ooh and aah about as we drove by.

No such luck. Instead we see billboards, and while the pictures in the ads may look good, I think my idea would have made it prettier. Lady Byrd Johnson is rolling over in her grave again.
