The City of Sedalia is reminding area residents that the application deadline to participate in the United Way's Day of Caring, is quickly approaching.

The City of Sedalia is a partner of the Sedalia-Pettis County United Way.

The City's team of volunteers helped out at the 2016 SPCUW Day of Caring and had a great time, according to a press release from the City of Sedalia.

The deadline for team and project applications is July 10th!

According to the Sedalia-Pettis County United Way's webpage, the Day of Caring is about a team focusing on a one-day project to help the community, or to help an elderly, disabled and/or a veteran, who may not be able to do the project on their own because of physical or financial limitations.

Applications need to be submitted by July 10. Participants can mail their applications to  3615 West Broadway Suite 307, in Sedalia. or email the applications to staci.harrison@spcuw.org.

For more information, call 826-2980. From July to September, the Day of Caring Committee will be assessing the projects, taking pictures, and securing materials and tools for the projects to be completed by the teams.

There will be a team-leader meeting at County Distributing on September 20, beginning at 5:15 p.m. Team leaders will select their team's project during the meeting. The location of each project will vary, according to the SPCUW website.

The Day of Caring will take place Saturday, October 28.
