Veterans Day will be observed at Smith-Cotton High School on Friday, Nov. 11 starting at 7:30 a.m. (Friday will be an early-out day for Sedalia 200 schools).

At 8:35 a.m., all Veterans, their families and special guests will be escorted to the S-C gym for a ceremony that starts at 8:40.

After the presentation of colors by the Smith-Cotton Army JROTC and the singing of the National Anthem by New Score and Cabaret, S-C Principal Wade Norton will welcome those in attendance, followed by a musical medley by the choirs honoring the various branches of service.

Major Williams S. Ratcliffe, US Army (Ret) will be the guest speaker for the event.

At around 9:15, a POW-MIA ceremony will be performed by S-C JROTC cadets.

A 21-gun salute followed by the playing of Taps will conclude the ceremony, at which time the Veterans will depart.

The public is encourage to attend.
