ATV Mishap Injures Two Women

Two women were seriously injured in an ATV accident that occurred in Benton County around 3:30 Sunday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 57-year-old Gail D. Ward of Warsaw was the driver of the northbound 2005 Arctic Cat ATV at 26232 Waterview Drive when the ATV left the roadway, struck a mailbox and a tree, then overturned, ejecting her and her passenger, 47-year-old Kasey L. Kienzler of Oak Grove.

Both were transported by air ambulance to the University of Columbia. The driver was not wearing a safety device, the report said.

Benton County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
