Thanks for checking out our our website and seeing what we're up to.  Radio has come a long way in the 13 years I've worked for KXKX/KSDL/KSIS, and be on the look out for some new additions in the future.   What those are I can't say, but just tune or check things out frequently.

Doug Shares The Tradition and History of Confetti Eggs [VIDEO]

Last weekend was Easter, and I brought up one of my family traditions, where we make confetti eggs. These eggs are the shell filled with confetti that you crack over people's heads for good luck, and of course, just for fun.  I brought this up on the air on 92.3 BOB-FM and Denny Perkins thought this was some crazy thing that we just came up with, just like he thought about St. Nicholas Day.  I can assure you, this is far from just a Sokolowski made up tradition.

When you have a favorite player, it is usually the quarterback. People remember Joe Montana, John Elway, Dan Marino and the lists go on. People remember the running backs, Jim Brown, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders and the list goes on. People remember the wide receivers, Jerry Rice, Terrel Owens, Randy Moss, Isaac Bruce, Tim Brown and the list goes on. People remember the skill players and even the defense. But who remembers the kicker? Sure, you remember the occasional kicker who hit a clutch field goal, or maybe you remember the horrible misses at key times. There is one kicker that I shall remember for a long time, and it's Jason Hanson from the Detroit Lions, who retired today (April 4).

The first pitch of the season has been thrown, and the Major League Baseball season has begun.  We have a great luxury in being able to cheer for the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals around here. Both cities take great pride in their teams and have fantastic stadiums, Busch Stadium and Kauffman Stadium. While they both are great stadiums, Newstalk 1050 KSIS is giving you the chance to take a trip to see a game of your choice, so I thought it would be fun to list my top five stadiums to visit other than Busch and Kauffman.
