UCM Professor Discovers World’s Largest Known Prime Number

Curtis Cooper, professor of computer science at the University of Central Missouri, has made the most recent discovery of the world’s largest known prime number, according to information released by the Great Internet Mersenne Prime Number Search, also known as GIMPS.

Mizzou and Arkansas State Football to Face Off in 2013

The University of Missouri has wrapped up its search for a final opponent for its 2013 football schedule, as Mizzou and Arkansas State University have agreed to a home-and-home series, with games in 2013 and 2015.  This season's game will be played in Columbia on Sept. 28, with the return game scheduled for Sept. 12, 2015 in Jonesboro, Ark.  Kickoff times for all 2013 Mizzou Football games will not be set until SEC television selections are made this summer.

In closed session on Monday, January 28, 2013, the Board of Education of the Sedalia #200 School District, hired Mr. Jason Curry to be the Smith-Cotton Jr. High School Principal for the 2013-2014 school year.  In addition to hiring Curry, the Sedalia #200 School District, hired Mr. Wade Norton to be the Smith-Cotton High School Principal for the 2013-2014 school year as well.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced today (Jan 28) that they have agreed to terms with free-agent infielder Ronny Cedeno on a one-year contract for the 2013 season.  The Cardinals also announced that they have invited 16 non-roster players to Major League Spring Training Camp, including outfielder Oscar Taveras and right-handed pitcher Seth Maness, their 2012 Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively.
