2012 Severe Weather Recap Shows Calm Skies for Pettis County
The Sedalia-Pettis County Emergency Management Agency recently released their severe weather review for 2012. Although violent and damaging storms did occur, 2012 was a very calm year for Pettis County, with only one Severe Thunderstorm Warning, no more than five Severe Thunderstorm Watches. Perhaps most notable is the fact that Pettis County was never placed under a Tornado Watch in 2012.

Crews to Demolish Downtown Sedalia Buildings Due to December Fire
Crews have blocked off South Ohio Avenue between 2nd Street and southbound to Gazebo Park in downtown Sedalia in preparation to demolish several buildings damaged by a fire on Dec. 14, 2012. The demolitions comes at the recommendation of an engineer who deemed the buildings unstable and dangerous.
