Authorities Accuse Eldon Man of Child Sexual Exploitation
A 36-year-old Eldon man has been indicted indicted by a federal grand jury for enticing a minor to engage in illicit sexual activity and for attempting to produce child pornography.
The United States Attorney's Office says James Anthony Guthrie, III was charged in a two-count indictment in Jefferson City on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018. The indictment was unsealed and made public Thursday upon Guthrie’s arrest and initial court appearance.
Guthrie is accused of using the Internet and a cell phone to entice a child victim in North Carolina, between the ages of 12 and 16, to engage in illicit sexual activity from Dec. 1, 2015, to Dec. 18, 2017. Guthrie is also charged with attempting to produce child pornography on Dec. 18, 2017.
