Barbara J. Burlingame, 85, Independence, Mo., passed away June 16, 2013. In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated and buried with her husband during a committal service at 10 am, Sat., June 29, at Blue Springs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Wayside Waifs, 3901 Martha Truman Rd, Kansas City, MO 64137.

Barbara was born April 21, 1928, in Sedalia and graduated from Smith-Cotton High School. She worked with her daughter, Kathy, at 50 Plus Pharmacy on the square in Independence for over ten years. She enjoyed shopping, dining out and was a big fan of Johnny Carson. Most of all she loved her family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, William Burlingame, whom she went to join on Father's Day.

She is survived by daughters: Pam Waugh, and husband, Dick, Independence, MO, Kathy Browne, and husband, Gaylord, Blue Springs, MO; sons: Bill Burlingame, and wife, Jean, Kansas City, MO, Barry Burlingame, and wife Carrie, Independence, MO; grandchildren: Clint Waugh, and wife, Leanne, Lesley Waugh, Christy Browne-Nunez, and husband, Richard Nunez, Jenny Klinger, and husband, Josh, Heather Adair, and husband, Dave, Lindsay Herrera, and husband, Joseph, Matt Burlingame, Greg Burlingame, Ian Burlingame; great-grandchildren: Evan, Isabel, Lucia, Kyleigh, Tucker, Ella, Eden, Asa, Mara and Kai.
