Barbara “Bobbie Jo” Lear, 84

Barbara “Bobbie Jo” Lear, 84, of Sedalia passed away, Thursday, October 31, 2013 at her home, after a short battle with cancer.  She was born in Lucern, MO on August 28, 1929, a daughter of Harry and Edrea (Gladfelder) Wilson.

She spent most of her childhood and school years at Centerville, IA and graduated from Trenton High School, Trenton, MO.  In Trenton, she met and married, Charles “Cliff” Lear, her husband of 65 years.  She worked at various jobs to help her husband through college.  Bobbie Jo was a stay at home mother, until her daughter started school.  She then started her career working in offices at the various schools where her husband was employed.  She earned a degree in accounting at State Fair Community College and completed her career with 27 years in the central office of Marshall Public Schools.  During that time, she owned and operated concessions and a restaurant at the State Fair for 20 years. In addition, she was a gourmet cook and started a catering business in Marshall, MO.  After retirement, she and Cliff spent the winters in the Sun Belt and the summers at the Lake of the Ozarks.  She loved to fish, play bridge and work crossword puzzles, but most of all she loved and lived for her family.  She had many friends and will be sadly missed by all.  She was a beautiful woman all her life.

She is survived by, her husband Cliff; one granddaughter, Rhiannon Foster and her husband Enrique of Sedalia; one grandson, Lear Foster and his wife Elizabeth of Pflugerville, TX; and two great grandsons, Dane and Yale Foster of Sedalia.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Sonny Wilson and her loving daughter, Suzanne Foster.

A private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
