This week on Enquiring Minds we've talked about all sorts of different stuff, from your favorite quotes, the hall of fame, the movies, and your holiday decorations.  Every day I put up a new survey to ask your opinion on whatever's on my mind, and we talk about what you have to say throughout the show.  On Monday, I asked about a recurring topic around this time of year:  the end of year recaps.  A lot of people are looking back at the best and worst of the year, so it seems natural to ask what you think of this past year's movies.  What was the worst movie you saw this year, either at home or in the theater?

This is not a very good answer because I am not sure of the name or when it came out, but August in Osage County with Julia Roberts. Terrible. It was one of those I wanted to shut off but still kept watching thinking it may get better.

This one? Yeah, I heard good and bad things about it. Might not be for me, either.

I, Frankenstein - boring!

You know, I don't even remember that one! It must not have made that huge an impact with anyone else, either.

Then on Tuesday I was thinking about the different things I had around the house to decorate for Christmas. I was explaining to Boyfriendo's girls where certain ornaments came from.... and every one had a story. I started to think that everybody must have their favorite decorations like that. f you decorate for the holiday season, what's your favorite decoration? If you have a tree, what's your favorite ornament? Why is it so special?

I and my 3 sisters grew up in the country. Christmas was a special time for us despite the fact we were poor. We always got the same three gifts every year. A Barbie doll from mom, a pkg of socks from our aunt Lilly, and Avon from our aunt Mae. My dad had acres of land so one of us girls would get an ax and head up the mountain to get a tree while mom made popcorn. I dragged the tree home in the snow and we put it in front of the large picture window. My bestmemory is sitting around stringing popcorn to wrap around the tree. although my fingers hurt from being poked, it was fun spending time with family. My parents are in heaven now so i don't cut down the tree anymore nor do i string popcorn. God bless everyone this Christmas.

Awww, what a great story. I hope you have a great Christmas, too!

When my grandparents were alive they bought all the grandkids an ornament every year with name and date. i like to look at those. I was always anxious to see what the ornament would be year to year as a kid.

That's a great idea! Maybe I should do that with the girls and my cousin's boys. No tradition like a new tradition!

This week, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame released the names of their 2015 inductees, which included Joan Jett, Green Day, Lou Reed, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. So I wanted to ask: Which singer, band, or group would be in YOUR Hall of Fame?

George Strait
Nat King Cole
Elvis
Dean Martin
The Beatles
Sam Cook

I can't say that I'd argue with any one of those! You guys have such good taste.

Speaking of good taste, I was thinking about some of those things I'm sure we've all heard or read a quote from time to time, either in an educational setting, a movie, a book - maybe it was something a family member said to us. Either way, it sticks with you. What are some of your favorite quotes?

I don't know if it's a quote or not ......But I like the saying " What goes around ...Comes Around "

Sure, that counts! And hey, if nothing else, we all know how true it is!

Ignorance can be overcome....stupid is forever.

Now that one is one to live by!

"I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass...and I'm all out of bubblegum."

Yes, Doug loves They Live. And he will never let us forget it.

ANYWAY, that's just some of what you guys had to say. Anyway, that's it for this week's Enquiring Minds. But, I'll have a bunch of brand new ones starting up again on Monday. Make sure you go back and take any of the other surveys you may have missed and you'll get points to win prizes!

Curiously yours,
Behka
