The Benton County Sheriff's Office identified the body found in Truman Lake on September 30 as 15-year-old Khighla Parks and are following tips in reference to her homicide.  The Benton County Sheriff's Office, Greene County Sheriff's Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol have followed leads that has led the investigation to the Dallas County area.

Reports show that Parks was reported missing from the Springfield, Missouri area on September 20, 2012.  According to tips provided, information suggests that Parks was last seen in the Buffalo, Missouri area prior to her death.  Investigators believe suspicious activity took place in Buffalo.  Investigators believe the activity in Buffalo, Missouri may have lead to the death of Parks.
