Two people were injured Wednesday afternoon when a vehicle struck a tree in Benton County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the wreck at 3:45, on MO-7 just south of Route PP.

According to the online crash report, a 2014 Ford traveled off the road and struck a sign. The Ford then traveled down an embankment and struck a tree.

The driver, 67-year old Ronald A. Loftus and a passenger, 67-year old Catherine M. Loftus, both of Lenexa, KS, suffered moderate injuries. They were taken to Golden Valley Hospital, by Warsaw/Lincoln EMS, for treatment.

The report indicates both were wearing safety devices. The Ford was totaled and towed.
