Bernard D. Kleoppel, 82, of Warrensburg, formerly of Sedalia, died Monday, March 23, 2015, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
He was born October 10, 1932, in Cedar Rapids, NE, a son of the late William and Elizabeth (Buechter) Kleoppel. On August 27, 1955, in Corder, he was united in marriage to Wilma F. Anson, who preceded him in death on August 7, 2014.

He was raised in Corder and was a 1951 graduate of Corder High School. He served his country honorably in the US Army from 1953-1955, attaining rank of Corporal. He was a service manager at Bill Greer Ford in Sedalia for 19 years and at Broadway Ford in Kansas City until his retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time at the Lake and playing pitch.

Mr. Kleoppel is survived by three children, Bernie Kleoppel (Toni), of Sedalia, Tom Kleoppel (Donna), of Warrensburg, and Mary Westerdale (Dave), of Monroe, MI; a brother, James Kleoppel, of Springfield; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard D. Kleoppel; and six siblings, Wilfred Kleoppel, Kathryn Sutton, Joe Kleoppel, Johnnie Kleoppel, Bill Kleoppel, Robert Kleoppel and Raymond Kleoppel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am, Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Sacred Heart Church with Father Mark Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Kleoppel, Tim Kleoppel, Pat Kleoppel, Jeff Kleoppel, Terry Kleoppel and Brian Kleoppel. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Gracheck, Zack Hubach and Barry Lutz. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery with full military honors conducted by VFW Post 2591 and the US Army.

A scripture service will begin at 6 pm, Friday, March 27th, with visitation to follow until 8pm at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
