There will be plenty to do in Sedalia for St. Patrick's Day.  Most places are observing the day everyone is Irish on Saturday the 16th.  It all starts with a parade.

The theme for this year's St. Patrick's Day parade is "Lucky 13 - Go for the Gold."  The parade will step off at 10 a.m.  The route will run North on Ohio from 7th to Main and east on Main to Lamine.  If you would like to be in the parade, contact Barbara Erickson at 660-827-3793.  Parade entry deadline is March 10.

You'll be able to find corned beef & cabbage at just about any establishment with a kitchen.  Where you go depends on what kind of party you are looking for.  Here's a few suggestions.

  • The End Zone Sports Bar in the Thompson Hills Shopping Center boasts oil wrestling in addition to all of the usual festivities.
  • Daisy Dukes & Cowboy Boots will be celebrating Friday - Sunday.  There will be a small cover to benefit Child Safe after 8:00 on all three days. I will be broadcasting on location at Dukes & Boots from 6-9 p.m. Saturday evening.  Erin go bragh unless you want to be pinched.  I don't think I have anything green.  This could be an interesting and painful evening.
  • Fitter's 5th Street Pub will no doubt be full.  The place has the feel of a neighborhood bar.  Their many tappers keep a variety of beer lovers happy.

No matter where you go, be sure to take friends and have a good time.  May the luck o' the Irish be with you this St. Patrick's Day.
