Betty Jean Davis Theisen, age 83, of Cole Camp, Missouri, died December 29, at home in Cole Camp.  She was born in Masonville, Iowa, on March 13, 1932, a daughter of Elza Earl Davis and Bessie (Goff) Davis.

She was united in marriage to James David Theisen on December 4, 1948, in Waterloo, Iowa, who preceded her in death October 26, 1994.  This union was blessed with the gift of seven children: Rose Mary, David, Dan, Robin, Earl, Eric, and James.

Mrs. Theisen had in-home daycare for over 30 years in both Dunkerton, Iowa, and Cole Camp before retiring in 1993.  Aside from caring for children, she enjoyed helping others, including sending cards, baking cookies and being a listening ear for many.

She is survived by:
six of her children, David Theisen of Clinton, Dan (Alisha) Theisen of Cole Camp, Robin Balke of Sedalia, Earl (Lisa) Theisen of Cole Camp, Eric (Lisa) Theisen of Montreal, and James (Nancy) Theisen of Cole Camp;
her son-in-law, Richard Cooley of Olathe, KS;
twelve grandchildren,  Beth Hansen, Brian Cooley, Jean Hagston, Joshua Theisen, Tasha Ransdale, Andrea Waynick, Tanna Theisen, Susan Mann, Connor Balke, Brady Theisen, Andrew Theisen, and Alex Plemmons;
fifteen great-grandchildren, Timothy, Steven, Gabrielle, Jason, Haley, Star, Leo, Dylan, Madison, Hunter, Katherine, AJ, Anna, Amarabelle, Rowan, and Rori;
one sister, Florence Eddy of Hargill, Texas;
a half-brother, John (Sandy) Livingston of Cedar Falls, Iowa,
two brothers-in-law, Chuck Willett of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Chauncy Craig of Prineville, Oregon;
three sisters-in-law, Florence Theisen of Spearfish, South Dakota, Lucille Stewart of Edgemont, South Dakota, and Florence Krantz of Rapid City, South Dakota; and
many nieces, nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Theisen; her parents, Elza and Bessie Davis; a daughter, Rose Mary Cooley; her brother, Earl Davis; her two sisters, Ethel Willett and Beverly Craig; a sister-in-law, Beverly Davis; a brother-in-law, Loren Eddy; and a great-niece, Paige Davis.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp, with graveside service immediately following at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Cemetery in Cole Camp.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cole Camp and Rural Fire Department in care of the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Theisen, Tanna Theisen, Brian Cooley, Connor Balke, Brady Theisen, Andrew Theisen, and Alex Plemmons.
