The fund was established to keep the "Make A Difference In Your Community" legacy alive, according to GoBigOrGoHomeRace.com.

Below is the thank you message posted on the Go Big Or Go Home Race's Facebook Page, to all of the racers, sponsors and volunteers.

Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday in support of our 2nd Annual Blaine Whitworth GO BIG OR GO HOME 5K Run/Walk!! It was a great day and we had a wonderful time with all of you.

To our sponsors and all of those who donated to this year's event we can not tell you how much we appreciate your support and contributions to make our event possible.

To the volunteers who helped with stuffing packets, silent auction, cooking food, registration, course safety and traffic control, clean-up, and everything else we REALLY thank you for your help and time. You make our jobs so much easier and ensure the success of the event.

To everyone who participated in the race we thank you again and hope you all truly enjoyed yourself and had as much fun as we did seeing and talking with you all. We hope to see you all next year and we will work to continue to provide a safe, fun, and family friendly event to honor a charismatic man who loved "giving back to the community."
