Moore’s Greenhouse and Flower Shop made a donation to the Bothwell Foundation in 2016, as part of its annual bra decorating contest.

2016 was the fifth year the company hosted a bra decorating contest to help raise awareness about breast cancer prevention and breast health. Moore's donated $600 to the Bothwell Foundation in 2016. Residents donated decorated bras to Moore’s Greenhouse, and community members made a $1 donation to vote for their favorite bra.

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, one in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. It is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women and the second leading cause of cancer death among women.

“We are so pleased Moore’s Greenhouse and Flower Shop supports breast cancer awareness every year with its bra decorating contest,” said Stafford Swearingen, president of the Bothwell Foundation. “The money they donate to the Bothwell Foundation from the contest helps us continue our efforts to educate women in Pettis and Benton counties about the importance of early detection.”

The Bothwell Foundation launched in 2005, and helps to develop relationships and resources to financially support Bothwell Regional Health Center, and enhance health and wellness services in the community.
