A Safe Sitter babysitting class will take place at Bothwell Regional Health Center (BRHC) later this month.

The class will be conducted on Saturday, April 21 at the Bothwell Education Center, located at 600 E. 14th Street in Sedalia.

A press release from BRHC says the class is designed for 6th - 8th graders who are interested in babysitting. The Safe Sitter Program is described as a comprehensive, one-day course that includes pediatric CPR training and can help trach teach young teens and preteens how to be better, safer babysitters.

Students in the class have the opportunity to learn about injury management and prevention, childcare essentials, behavior management, the business of babysitting, and how to care for a choking child or infant.

The cost for the class is $35.00 and includes a messenger bag containing babysitting essentials.

Preregistration and payment is required by Friday, April 13. BRHC noted that class size is limited. The class will be held from 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
